Taking inspiration from discerning clients, a holistic approach to healthy techniques, and a community based crew model, this company has produced heirloom constructions around the state.

Principal and proprietor, Brendan Bonnett, was born in Alaska and cut his teeth in construction with the tradesmen of the northern oil patch. Brendan later took his interest in timberframe construction to Montana, studying the traditional techniques of structural wood joinery with the able master-craftsmen of the pre-eminent Timberframe company, Big Timberworks, Inc. After chopping countless mortises, he brought his skills back to Alaska to found The Borealis Woodwright LLC construction company in 2002. From that time Brendan has developed his construction experience, his network of professional associates, and skill in building for the Alaskan-specific context. His deep understanding of the Alaskan challenges of climate, remoteness, materials, and energy issues, has positioned Brendan as a valued consultant and has spurred his involvement in a wide range of projects, leading to the formation of Borealis Design Build.
